Choosing the Right Lamp Shade Size
Proportion rules that make a lamp look professionally styled.
Height rule
The shade should be roughly two-thirds the height of the lamp base.
Width rule
Shade width should be about twice the widest point of the base.
Hide the hardware
The shade bottom should cover the socket and harp completely.
Fitter types
Spider fitters sit on a harp, uno fitters thread onto the socket, clip fitters grip the bulb.
